Coats for Kids

The Coats For Kids donation drive started several years ago when Don Shaffer, then a local REALTOR®, saw a need to help support local children, their parents, and veterans by providing them with a warm coat for the winter. In the past, we collected as many as 400-500 coats for children and adults! Don passed away in 2016. In his honor and to recognize his many years of community service, the donation drive was renamed for him. The Prescott Area Association of REALTORS® Community Services & Outreach Committee has coordinated the event in recent years.

We are collecting gently used or new coats, sweaters, and hoodies of all sizes at collection sites throughout the Quad-City area. Zippers, snaps, and buttons on gently used items should be intact and in good working order.

Collection dates for 2021 are from November 1st to December 2nd, with distribution to local charities after that. Cash or check donations are also accepted to purchase hats, gloves, scarves, and coats. Checks should be made payable to Prescott Area Association of REALTORS® .

Donation Box Sites (Boxes Donated by APS)

BloomTree is excited to be an active part of the Coats For Kids drive. Please consider donating warm items or a financial donation to bless the families in the Quad-City Area.

Thank you for your support!
