In Gilbert, we take parks and recreation very seriously.  So much so that we have a network of parks that are nationally acclaimed!  We are proud to have Cosmo Dog Park ranked as the best dog park in the entire U.S. by DogFancy Magazine—and the dogs are pretty excited about it too!  Plans are being set in motion for the town’s newest park, Gilbert Regional Park. It will sit on 272 acres and house everything from a swimming center to retail spaces.  Like I said…we take our parks seriously!

Living in Arizona, and especially living in Gilbert, means getting outside and adventuring out into nature.  Horse lovers get excited about the 54 miles of equestrian trails, and bikers are equally excited about the marked trails that allow them to ride along the canals—some of the best view in the entire nation!  Skaters delight in Freestone Skate Parks 22,000 square feet of park space, while EVERYONE delights in the 135 miles of the Central Trail System!


Rich History

When it was incorporated in 1920, Gilbert was a sleepy town off the rail line that was economically dependent upon the farming industry and the construction of the Roosevelt Dam.  Over the last century, that small farming town has boomed into one of the fastest growing towns in the U.S. Over the last three decades, Gilbert has grown at a head spinning rate, with current estimations hovering around 239,777 residents. 


Unbeatable Education

Gilbert Public School District graciously serves the students of Gilbert, Arizona.  The district is proud of its educational success, with 31 of the schools being awarded “excelling” status by the Arizona Department of Education.  Students in Gilbert are even able to expand upon their educations right in their home town by attending Chandler Gilbert Community College or Arizona State University Polytechnic Institution.
